What is FDIsync for Developers?
The API (Application Program Interface) is a client SDK which is available in several forms (.java, .c#, etc) for host application developers to get a jump start on application development.
The API uses HTTP queries to retrieve metadata from any file in the cloud repository to see what it is before you download it, this metadata includes the manufacturer identification numbers and the timestamp of when the file was added to the Repository. There is also an overall Repository timestamp for the last changes applied, this could be used to trigger synchronizations within your application. The list of queries is available in the online documentation.
A license to the FDIsync for Developers includes access to the FDIsync Library, this gives you all possible methods of obtaining the current set of registered device support files.
How do I obtain API keys for my application to access the cloud repository?
Licensed companies receive user accounts for the Developer Portal at developer.ask4fdi.com This is where API keys are generated, unique to your company and projects. A single project can have multiple API keys.
