General Troubleshooting
1. The person using it must be logged on to the PC with administrative rights (the user account in windows must be part of the administrator's group).
2. The User Account Control (UAC) in Windows must be turned all the way down to the lowest setting in that particular user account.
3. If running ITK 6.4.0 (or later) you must be running it in Windows 10 (preferably the 64-bit version).
If the ITK Automation Tool continues to have issues, we recommend the following steps:
- Completely uninstall the H1 ITK from the Control Panel/Programs and Features.
- Completely uninstall the ITK Automation Tool software by searching for any software with the word "Advantech" in it and removing that from Control Panel\Programs and Features.
- Go to the root of the C:\ drive and find a folder starting with the name "Advantech". If one is found, delete the entire folder.
- Unplug the H1 ITK Automation Tool from the USB port where it is installed.
- Restart the PC.
- Log in as an administrative user with user account control (UAC) disabled.
- Install the H1 ITK as per the User Guide. View User Guides
- Do not plug the ITK Automation Tool in until you have reinstalled all the software, including any Advantech Software, and restarted the PC.
Before plugging the ITK Automation Tool back into the USB port, unplug the ITK Automation Tool from the 2-port USB hub, and then unplug and reseat the USB "dongle" into the 2-port hub. Next, reseat the ITK Automation Tool into the 2-port "dongle". Finally, plug the ITK Automation Tool 2-port USB hub into a DIFFERENT USB port on the PC than the one you are now using.
Check the Device Manager. Open the Device Manager and find the hardware for the ITK Automation Tool (Advantech hardware) and open up the tree view of that item, there should be no indications of problems with the installation. If there is, take a screen shot of it, and send it to us in a support ticket.
Otherwise, if all looks good, the hardware was detected and should work fine once you run checkprompt and/or the ITK. Continue following the instructions in the user guide on installing and configuring the ITK.
