FF-524 Device Registration Process and FF-531 DD/CF Self-Test Process both reference a list of "approved" versions of the DD Tokenizer suitable for support file registration.
This is a general list that will be updated as necessary.
DDv4 files may be tokenized with Tokenizer Versions:
- Any 4.x version, or
- any version from 5.1 through the current version
DDv5 files may be tokenized with Tokenizer Versions:
- Any version from 5.1 through the current version
- Any DD files created with tokenizer versions 5.0 through 5.0.8 will not be accepted for registration.
DDv6 files may be tokenized with Tokenizer Version:
- Tokenizer 6.1.1 or above (FDI IDE version 1.4.0 or above)
It is important to note that these general rules ONLY apply to basic DDs with menus and methods.
The Foundation recommends that device manufacturers use the latest version of the tokenizer for any DDs containing lists, files, local parameters, visualizations, persistent data, etc.
Manufacturers creating these advanced DDv5 files should refer carefully to the readme notes of the latest tokenizer to understand the bugs that have been found and resolved with each release of the tokenizer before creating advanced DDs with an older version of the tokenizer.
